Wecom Fiber celebrates ribbon cutting for Parker, AZ broadband project

October 29, 2026

Wecom Fiber was joined by the Arizona Commerce Authority, officials from Town of Parker, and the Parker Regional Chamber of Commerce & Tourism this month to mark what the ISP calls “a new milestone in connecting residents” of Arizona.

A multi-year fiber build spanning Mohave and La Paz counties, with the Town of Parker as its final segment, has been completed in Arizona.

According to Wecom Fiber, the completed network now serves 124 community anchor institutions and connects 15,000 homes and businesses.

Work on the project began in late 2023, when officials broke ground on the $10 million Arizona Broadband Development Grant project. In total, Wecom Fiber says they invested $35 million, bringing the total project investment $45 million.

Randy Hartless, Parker’s mayor, said the milestone means Parker now has access to reliable internet, which it didn’t have before.

La Paz County District 2 Supervisor Duce Minor added to that sentiment with his comments, included in Wecom’s October 13 release.

“La Paz County has been my home for many years, and I’ve seen firsthand what reliable broadband means for our residents and local businesses,” Minor said. “This project reflects exactly the kind of investment our rural communities need, and I’m grateful to Wecom Fiber and the state for making it happen.”

Beyond this specific project, the Arizona Broadband Development Program has $100 million in funding dedicated towards infrastructure projects in Arizona, including 19 projects across 10 counties.
