Wecom Fiber announces plans to deliver high-speed, fiber broadband in Prescott Valley
Today, Wecom Fiber – an Arizona-based Internet service provider – announced plans to build high-speed, fiber broadband that will be accessible to 25,000 homes and businesses across Prescott Valley.
The $35 million project, which will be 100% privately-financed by Wecom, was approved Thursday evening on a unanimous vote by the Prescott Valley Town Council. Construction is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks and completed within 18 months.
“High-speed fiber broadband is a true game-changer for Prescott Valley,” said Wecom CEO Paul Fleming. “With this fully Wecom-funded project, Prescott Valley families, students and workers will have access to affordable broadband fiber Internet that is the fastest and most reliable on the market.”
Wecom’s fiber broadband enables multi-gigabit Internet speeds, perfect for streaming, surfing and other online needs of students, businesses, job-seekers and more.
In addition to Prescott Valley, Wecom is already constructing fiber broadband across multiple unincorporated communities in Yavapai County, including Cordes Lakes, Spring Valley, White Horse Ranch, Paulden, Rimrock and Beaver Creek.
Wecom is a leading provider of fiber-to-the-premises and fixed-wireless technologies across rural Arizona. The broadband provider has partnerships already underway with Coconino, Yavapai, Mohave, Pinal and La Paz counties, and recently broke ground on a $45 million project to install fiber across Flagstaff.
“Wecom is Arizona-based and committed to eliminating the digital divide and ensuring every community has access to the very best fiber broadband,” Fleming said. “We are thrilled to begin construction in Prescott Valley and look forward to delivering the lightning-fast broadband this community needs and deserves.”
